We specialize in diesel engine repair for most makes and models. Our technicians are all professionally trained
and certified, and we work multiple shifts to ensure that we meet our customers’
demanding schedules.Services offered include:
Empire technicians are certified and trained to use the latest recovery and recharging equipment,
and we can maintain or repair any system. Whatever your situation — whether your system needs an upgrade
to the newest Freon, or you have a simple problem with a dash fan motor — we can fix it. We test and
repair using the latest equipment and protect our environment in the process.
Empire is an official DOT inspection site, and meets or exceeds state requirements for performing
legally required, annual DOT vehicle inspections. Defects identified during inspections are noted and
repair estimates are presented to vehicle owners. No repairs are made without owner approval. Vehicles
that pass inspection receive an official decal.
Empire is your one-stop shop for troubleshooting and repair services on air, hydraulic
and anti-lock brake systems from all makes and models. Our large inventory of in-stock
brake parts keeps repair time to a minimum: most jobs are in and out in a day.
Clutches have never required much preventive maintenance, and those in newer vehicles need
even less. Empire's standard practice for heavy duty clutches follows the specifications of the
Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC), which lists four primary factors affecting heavy duty
clutch service:
- Powertrain specifications (engine, clutch, transmission, axle and tires)
- Control of powertrain torsional activity
- Driver technique (starting gear selection, engagement technique, driving habits)
- Clutch maintenance (adjustment, lubrication, protection from rust and contamination)
"These factors are not independent of each other" says TMC. "For example, powertrain
specifications can have a major effect on the third listed factor - driver technique."
We use a chassis dyno to check your engine’s performance, help you get maximum fuel economy and troubleshoot
any hard-to-diagnose engine problems. We can also check your cooling system to be sure it’s running at peak
efficiency — that’s important in the desert!
Empire technicians are experienced in the inspection and repair of all electrical systems. Easily detected
wiring shorts are often found to be the source of electrical failures. High-tech computer systems allow us
to detect and repair them quickly.
Our technicians are trained and certified to diagnose and repair diesel engines in all types of trucks
and motor homes. We use computer scanners to verify fault codes in Cummins, Cat and Detroit Diesel
engines. This speeds up repairs and gets you back on the road quickly.
We perform front-end repairs on all makes and models, maximizing your vehicle’s safety,
tire life and fuel economy. We also keep most front-end parts in stock to help you get back
up and running as quickly as possible.
Empire offers 24/7 emergency road service for qualified customers. We have two service trucks equipped with
all the equipment necessary to get you back on the road quickly. Whether you break down locally or out of town,
we can help. Call our office for details regarding this service.
Whether you drive a belly truck or a tractor-trailer, the right maintenance program will
guarantee that you get the most from your investment. Today's medium and heavy duty trucks
require periodic adjustments and maintenance, and major components like engines, transmissions and
rear axles need lubricant and filter changes at specific intervals. Whether you track these intervals
by machine hours or mileage, Empire can help you set up a proper schedule, stick with it and keep
your vehicle in top condition.
Today's trucks use many types of suspension — no longer can we just replace springs and bushings
to fix a problem. Many trucks are equipped with air ride suspensions or combination air ride/spring
suspensions, and require a technician with specific troubleshooting experience to repair them.
That’s an Empire Truck & Trailer technician.
Empire Truck and Trailer offers repair and replacement services for many brands of transmissions.
Whether your equipment is heavy, medium or light duty, we can work on it. We also offer rebuilt
and used transmissions.
Trailers
Trailers are still equipped with S-CAM braking systems that require lubrication and adjustment. Self-adjusting slack
adjusters may keep the brakes adjusted, but periodic lubrication and operational checks are still necessary. Newer
trailers equipped with ABS (AntiSkid Brake Systems) may experience electrical problems. These can be located by
connecting to our shop’s computer system. Once the problem fault code is identified, we can correct it.

Empire technicians can repair or replace loose or damaged flooring, whether it’s hardwood oak on a flatbed or laminated
planks a trailer. Our welders can also replace cross members and repair sub frame structural damage.
When a tractor drops its trailer, the trailer’s landing gears and supports must be tight and secure or the trailer to
fall to the ground. During our Preventive Inspection, all landing gear components are checked and lubricated so they
work properly. Another good reason to lubricate: stiff landing gear can cause back injuries to drivers and lost time
for their companies.
We service and repair all types of lift gates, including tuck-way lift gates and rail gates. We can also locate and
correct electrical or structural problems in your gate.
Salt and chemicals used on the highways today can damage a trailer’s light and wiring connections. Empire technicians
can find and fix this problem. We use only heat shrink wire connectors, and we secure your harnesses with loom clamps
and nylon straps. To assure that all your lights are in working order, we simulate a connection to your truck’s power
source via our own portable connector.

Trailers with overhead or swing doors are not a problem for Empire. We service and maintain Todco and Whiting doors,
and stock replacement parts for both. We also service the rear doors on refrigerated trailers as well. Whatever the
problem — a broken hinge or roller, or a complete door replacement — we can fix it!
A preventive maintenance program for your trailer is just as important as it is for the tractor that pulls it.
It is imperative that your trailer’s components are periodically checked and adjusted to maximize the life
expectancy of all components and insure the drivability of the complete unit as a combination. We specialize
in keeping your trailer in top working order so you can run it worry free. We can tailor an onsite or in-shop
maintenance program that fits your needs.
Empire Truck & Trailer can repair or replace your damaged aluminum or translucent trailer roof. We can also replace
upper rails and front headers, and get you back on the road quickly.
Today's trailers use many different types of suspension. Many are equipped with air ride suspensions or combination
air ride/spring suspensions. Our experienced technicians can troubleshoot all suspension types. Whether the problem
is a rough ride, uneven ride height or a broken spring or hanger, Empire can fix it.
